ABOUT ME
Ryan G. de Perio is an individual who truthfully enjoys all kinds of music-- or at least listening to something at least once to give it a shot. From Top 50 to piano movements, emo (pop punk, post-hardcore, alt rock-- whatever you want to call it, which honestly, is a whole can of worms within itself), black metal, experimental noise, OPM, EDM, JPOP, KPOP, whatever-letter-pop, hell, even American country music, their Last.FM list could go on and on.
Like most people, they grew up listening to whatever their parents put on, where their first real love of music being thanks to Broadway musicals and The Beatles, with the latter sparking the hunger for knowledge of musical history, as The Beatles seemed to inspire so many of the albums from the bands they would later grow to love, such as Panic! at the Disco's Pretty Odd, or even My Chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black Parade, more or less. They enjoy delving into the history of it all, as well as the subculture and fan spaces, learning what came from where, who inspired who to make which song or album, and of course, meeting and talking to fans that want the bands they love gain notoriety-- or the ones that prefer to keep the music to themselves (and why that may be).
As someone who is truthfully not as well versed as they would like to be in the local music scene, they are excited to find all kinds of shows and gigs to head to, be it acoustic sets, cover bands, or perhaps the debut show of the next big local band. Ryan is fond of hearing familiar sounds, as well as expanding their musical palette as they believe music is a great way to meet new people, make new friends, and build community, or something cliche like that.
Alongside music, Ryan takes an interest in the physical arts, frequenting local art markets such as Komiket and Patron of the Arts as an artist vendor and buyer.
